My NPC's big obsession with Icespire is that his ancestors built the place and now it seems to be under some sort of curse. So he became obsessed with finding out what happened to his ancestral landmark.
One aspect I tried to hint at was a possible Coldwood-Icespire connection. Both of these locations feature ice cold temperatures at geographically warm areas. In the Coldwood there is the citadel of Bitterness with an epic level artifact Hunger and a really cool background story that has all sorts of potential. Icespire didn't have that same treatment, being mostly left a mystery. So I set out my thoughts to rectify a little bit that oversight.
