Re: Tamoachan Revisited - The Origins of the Olman (Score: 1) by GVDammerung on Thu, August 25, 2005 (User Info | Send a Message | Journal)
Thank you. :) I think the Olman get something of a raw deal, particularly because they are found in close proximity to the migrant Suel, who seem to be something of a GH fetish. They also suffer for having their potential go unrealized in The Scarlet Brotherhood, which is often thoughtlessly imagined to be canon of a sort that cannot be challenged. That some of the same people who say The Scarlet Brotherhood is the last word on the Olman are also Suel fetishists should come as no surprise. If the Olman are to be accorded more dignity, it will necessarily mean that the Suel of Keoland may not so easily extend their writ over the Amedio. Denegrating the Olman then becomes a species of advancing the already gilt Suel of Keoland for these folk - an excercise is excess and personal preference. I hope in this article and in the two that follow to show how The Scarlet Brotherhood is not the last word on the Suel. Of course, Suel fetishists will likely remain unmoved. Respectfully submitted. :)
