That's possible, I think the basis of Chris Pramas and co's work was that all the devils in LoH are based on real world mythologies, so it seems very likely that Nergal is some obscure real world devil/demon figure that more than one RPG designer has taken creative license with. Perhaps I can bug Iquander about it at the weekly chat and try and find a definitive answer on Nergal's source.
