    Scholars have long puzzeled over the identity of the Shadowed Ones. As you have said they cannot be the Aerdi as they are clearly referred to elsewhere. A paper read before the Sagacious Society of Rel Mord several years ago suggested that they might be magi of the Nehron, but aside from a great deal of bombastic reference to the glory of Nyrond, little evidence was cited to support this.
    The theory currently holding most favour in Nelix town is that the Shadowed Ones might be a reference to the Ur Flannae mystics, who are known to have held sway in what is now regretfully termed the Northern Kingdom of Aerdy.

    As to the secrets of Starhaunt, further reserach is underway in the libraries of Nelix, with the asistance of a number of scholars from both the Cunty Urnst and exiles from Scant in the formerly Free State of Onnwal. Assuredly the results of their toil will be presented here in due course....
