    Not a stupid question; just one I was hoping people would overlook....
    ;-)

    Drakkaren are a type of undead created by "undead dragons". In the original 1st edition Dragon article, they were "drakarmen". I still have hopes of finishing an article for Erik that'll include the drakkaren template and more details on Menioth's master, so I've decided not to include those details here.
