Funny. I am somewhere around 27/28 myself. 5th grade at RICS (Riyadh International Community School) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia late in 1981.
I don't know where you are out there, Ben Huff, but thanks for introducing me to the game... _________________ My campaigns are multilayered tapestries upon which I texture themes and subject matter which, quite frankly, would simply be too strong for your hobbyist gamer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Mp7Ikko8SI

Kirt learned about the time I was serving in the Army and the game was popular among my Army friends.
As an "International Community School" there could well have been "military brats" attending there, which could explain it.
But only Kirt would know that. _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

There weren't that many US military in Saudi in the 80's - long before Gulf War I. Most of the school was the kids of foreign contractors working for either the petroleum or defense sectors of Saudi. My dad worked for Harris, a telecommunications company that did business with the Saudi military. _________________ My campaigns are multilayered tapestries upon which I texture themes and subject matter which, quite frankly, would simply be too strong for your hobbyist gamer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Mp7Ikko8SI

Pretty much. She should be tried in Greyhawk City for war crimes atrocities.
But while Yolande will take all the heat no one will notice and for good reason, that Cyndor and Tsolo' are the amoral instigators. Time traveling to them is not a field trip so much as it is a chance to make history happen from behind the scenes.

Ah, but who are we poor mortals to judge the rightness (or wrongness) of a God's actions?
Even if we do judge them all the time!
Each of your comics is a gem, Mort, but I'm still waiting for more on the 'stealthy cultists storyline' that you promised. Can't wait to see what happens should they get their hands on the actual Codex! _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

Mystic-Scholar, I feel a need to clarify. The last cultists strip -was- stealthy because they weren't in it yet it was part of their storyline. And believe me, after all that has transpired they DO have the actual Codex. No other book could cause so much destruction and panic among gods and mortals.

It's amazing how far Golarion has progressed already. Paizo is on their 4th AP I believe and they have entire World books, Deity books, etc. plus their own setting specific RPG set out. All that was once directed at making Greyhawk stuff. Tsk!

I know I always keep complaining about the same thing, but figure what would have happened if Paizo managed to buy copyrights over greyhawk. The recently released Cities of Golarion which contains 6 detailed cities could have described in detail Hardby, Rel Astra, Rel Mord etc...
AND they would have done it with fan support, listening to our requests and complains.
I just shiver at the thought of Greyhawk in the hands on deisgners like Bruce Cordell (not attacking the person of course, just his professional works which, in my opinion, are among the worse in the history of D&D).[/b]

Well as Bruce Cordell goes I think he was pretty good myself. He basically was responsable for the Far Realm in D&D and his niche since then had been Cthulhuian horror stuff. What has he done recently in 4e? I have no clue, but my finger is definitely off his pulse.
As to paizo and fan collaboration, not only do they listen to us, they also have been holding annual designer contests to find new talent, unlike WotC which since the Digital Initiative has increasingly been circling the wagons, staying inhouse and even doing their annual lay offs of D&D staff. What hope could a newb writer ever have getting published in Dragon/Dungeon now?

Thank goodness for Canonfire! Well keep Greyhawk going on in hearts. I've no doubt we can outlast WotC and their insane business decisions. Paizo may end up with Greyhawk yet.

Wolfsire: That was not the Needfest Special. You'll know it when you see it.
Mystic: Now I had a choice between Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox and I went with Megan Fox thinking she was just as recognizable as Jolie. Guess not :P

Don't be disappointed Mort. There are a great many starlets that I am unfamiliar with. I don't keep up with Hollywood, nor do I see that many movies these days (not too many interest me).
I'm sure plenty of others knew who she was. Personally, I think I may have heard her name on the news, or something. But I'm unfamiliar with Megan's "work." And I don't care for Angelina anyway, so you made the better choice.
Thanks for the info. _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

Epic! Really, Needfest is a time for getting together, in Graz'zt's lair. Where'd you get the picture of Rary and Robilar, by the way?

Mort, you out did yourself with that one. That was truly incredible!
Now I'm going to spend the rest of the year wondering how you're going to out do that NEXT year!
Thanks Mort, outstanding stuff! _________________ Mystic's web page: http://melkot.com/mysticscholar/index.html

Rasgon: These things start out so innocent and then turn epic. Man I'm glad it's done. The Rary-Rob pic is from LGJ #21 I think. The first article of two about the Bright Desert by Creighton Broadhurst.
Mystic Scholar: Yeah I dread needfest evey year and it seems I procrastinate harder each time. When I say its a Needfest miracle I don't kid. These things are hard to get finished in time. Whew!

Yay! Thanks for the Needfest cheer, Mort.
I especially liked the "colorized" versions of H, K, and V. _________________ My campaigns are multilayered tapestries upon which I texture themes and subject matter which, quite frankly, would simply be too strong for your hobbyist gamer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Mp7Ikko8SI

Yes, I think the red sweater really complements' Vaprak's greenishness. The irony of Hruggek wearing a scarf is subtle too. As for 'Kirt'ulmak, he likely slew an elf to get that green hat.

Just as a heads-up, Mortellan, your History of Greyhawk strip is a featured link on Nodwick.com :)

Thanks Pat! Good find. That is way too cool to see. I worked my butt off on that strip back in August so it's good to see it's still getting read. :)
