GVDammerung, everyone is entitled to their opinion but many of your fact are highly questionable.

Where do you get Furyondy awesome naval strength when the fleet couldn't even stop orcs and hobgoblins crossing the Veng.

As far as I know Greyhawk Canon doesn't get into the types of wood or support facilities just genernic ship-building sources and given the Sea Princes had the finest ships before SB conquest made from Amedio wood why would that wood source suddenly be useless.

Finally one must remember SB naval strength isn't concentrated hence their losses when they overeached but still consists of the Sea Princes fleet (finest fighting navy) and the Lordship of the Isles (fighting navy) not to mention the Tilavot Fleet (unknown) so the brotherhoods ships are not simply troop transports.

The fact that no one can break the blockade and in the West (Keoland, Ahlissa, Irongate) are considering a naval alliance, Narie Compact to compete with the SB in the Azure Sea while in the East (Rel Astra, Sea Barons) became the Solnor Compact and are trying to make peace with the barbarians for the first time in centuries tells me Canon as written, the SB naval power is truly frightening.

A Final Note - The Spanish Armada was sunk in large part by a storm at sea, the English actually did very little damage.
