Re: Of the available, which is your preferred (intelligent) (Score: 1) by Osmund-Davizid on Thu, December 09, 2004 (User Info | Send a Message | Journal) | I too, voted drow, because of they are a very unique Greyhawk creation, not really based on any real world mythology, but a genuine original D&D legend.
But I voted for the old school drow. Not the FR type, "every other PC is a half drow, half dragon assassin-paladin" type. Nor is my drow the "we are just misunderstood many of us are really good elves" drow. Mine are the kill or be killed, depraved, hard core demonic, "no retreat, no surrender, no prisoners just slay them all" drow.
They are foes worth facing and when you keep them as a mysterious race unknown to most of the population except as legend, then you have a real nasty bunch of curs that gets my paladins and LG wizards up in a just and proper bloodlust!
Ahem. Just my two coppers worth....

Drow Here, Too (Score: 1) by Greyson on Thu, December 09, 2004 (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.donkbrown.com | I too voted for the drow. I think the drow are such an interesting idea - dark elves with malicious bent and black hearts. I agree with the sentiment that true Greyhawk drow are of the savage, violent type that hate all things non drow (and occassionally things that are).
Also, Lolth comes to mind. One of my favorite Greyhawk deities. A beautiful goddess with ebon skin, who commands the adoration and respect of her dark-skinned followers beneath the surface of the known world. That's good stuff.
Drow all the way, man!
