Heroic: Of, relating to, or resembling the heroes of literature, legend, or myth
and, of course:
Hero A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life
There is nothing heroic or "noble of purpose" about someone who hides away from the public he wishes to manipulate and aids villains as often as not to achieve some fabled "balance", IMO.
And, a heroic assassin? No, I think not.
