Never has an artifact or item caused so much self inflicted player suffering or made players rather face a pack of starving red dragons than lug these grisly trophies around. Hands down the best ... sorry no pun intended. But I'll keep my eye on it..sorry..

While I've always been partial to the Vecna constallation of artifacts, the Crook (and Mace) of Rao, and various others mentioned, my favorites have been the Codex of the Infinite Planes (Gygax's equivalent to Moor*****'s Dead Gods Book), the Rod of Seven Parts (nothing to do with the late 2e adventure of the same name), Fraz-Urb'luu's staff, and various items of my own creation. |
